Distribution of cash donations to affected families in the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar
Kabul / Bremen, 15 September 2025 – On behalf of the Independent Afghan Women Association (IAWA), Mr. Patman traveled on 10 and 11 September 2025 to the regions of eastern Afghanistan that were severely affected by the devastating earthquake. The purpose of his mission was to provide immediate and unbureaucratic assistance to families in need.
On site, Mr. Patman personally organized and supervised the distribution of cash donations to affected families, with a special focus on women, widows, and sick individuals. The relief measures carried out in the name of IAWA included:
Province of Kunar
Zeri Baba Camp: support for 50 families (each approx. €25.14)
Ston Camp:
50 widows (each approx. €25.14)
10 widowers (each approx. €25.14)
30 ill women (each approx. €25.14)
Families of six teachers who lost their lives in the earthquake (each approx. €25.14)
Medical aid amounting to approx. €201.10
Village of Ston: support for 20 families (each approx. €25.14)
Village of Shokhiali: support for 11 families (each approx. €25.14)
Support for 40 families whose homes were destroyed (each €35.00)
Province of Nangarhar (Dara-e-Noor)
Support for 90 families (each approx. €25.14)
Through these measures, IAWA was able to make an important contribution to immediate relief efforts and provide vital assistance to numerous families in an acute crisis situation.
