We need your help
History and foundation of the association
In October 2002, the association was founded on the initiative of ten Afghan women:
We have founded the Independent Afghan Women Association to further concretely and directly the rebuilding of our destroyed country, together and with the aid of many others.
Diversity of cultures
Afghanistan is a multi-ethnic country and has always been a pluralistic society.
Hoping that this diversity can again be understood as an asset, we strive to achieve our aims by information and education. Women are the basis and the center of the Afghan family, which is in its turn the basis of Afghan society. Therefore, we want to promote the democratization and the peace process in our distressed country by working with and for the women.
Who are we now?
We are a group of interested people, coming from different countries and cultures, that keep Afghanistan always in mind and try to introduce this cultured country to a German environment.
As a patroness, we have won over Luise Scherf, wife of the former Mayor of Bremen.
